About - Music

Maïa has been playing music since a young age. She has used music in a very therapeutical/spiritual way as high release. A self taught musician, playing music in a visual, abstract way can help embrace her musicianship.

Maïa performed and recorded as the drummer and backing vocalist in the band TEEN from Brooklyn, NY.

Their record "In Limbo" has been released by the label Carpark Records and was mixed by Pete Kember a.k.a Sonic Boom of (Spectrum, Spaceman 3)

Dual-Split is with her brother Baptiste Ibar from Bizi Gara. Felix and Johannes Buff brother team are frequent collaborators. Their first album “A Thank You” was mixed and mastered by Johannes Buff. Their second album “Fuel” was recorded with legend Pete Kember a.k.a Sonic Boom, and their third album “Brand New Rain” was recorded again with Johannes Buff.

Sound Bath/therapy “Four Winds Bath” is an ongoing research project on the power of frequencies, tones, colors, taste, smells and sounds to use therapeutically. Ibar collaborates with musicians, and healers to enhance deep meditative states.

Lighter, in collaboration with Camilla Padgitt-Coles, and Boshra AlSaadi; soon to be released with Crash Symbols.

Rita and the Labyrinth, is Maïa’s solo project which combines all her projects in one.
